I’ve heard about your book sales. Tell me more.

A:

One of the primary ways we raise funds for library programs & services is by reselling books and other media that are donated to us. We have a brick-and-mortar bookstore, you can find us online, AND we have regular discount book sales. Click here for more information on how you can purchase books from the Friends to support your Phoenix Public Library.

I have books that I’d like to donate. Can you pick them up?

A:

We are happy to pick up donations of 8 banker’s sized boxes or more. Click here to learn more about how to donate books. Thank you!

I saw a book that you offer for sale online, but I live here in the Valley and would rather pick it up than have it shipped to me. Can I do that?

A:

Yes! First, visit our online marketplace, Books for Good, to find the book you want. Second, create a free account. When you check out, select “Pick Up” from the drop-down menu under Delivery Methods in the upper right hand corner. After payment, you will receive a follow up email from us indicating when your book is available for pick up at the Friends’ Place Bookstore inside Burton Barr Central Library. (This should only take us a couple of days.)

I would like to donate VHS cassettes. Can you use them?

A:

Unfortunately, the VHS cassette seems to be going the way of the 8-track, and demand for this medium has waned significantly in the past several years. We recommend that you give them to another worthy cause, such as Goodwill of Central Arizona or Treasures 4 Teachers.

I would like to donate some magazines. Can you use them?

A:

Yes, we are happy to accept the occasional magazine. We cannot pick them up, but we would greatly appreciate it if you would drop them off at the Friends’ Place Bookstore or at your local Phoenix Public Library’s Book Corner.

How do I sign up to receive email news from you?

A:

Thanks for keeping in touch! Simply enter your email address in the blank field at the very top right-hand corner of the website to start getting notified of upcoming book sales, cool library events, volunteer opportunities, and more!

I am interested in a book you have available for online purchase. Whom do I contact for more information?

A:

We sell books online in several different online marketplaces, including eBay, Amazon, and our very own BooksforGood.org. Any inquiries about a book you have found online can be emailed to sales (at) plfriends.org. Please reference the full title of the book and any important additional information, such as edition, publisher, or ISBN number (if available). Thanks for shopping!
